Come here for food, you'll leave happy - expect a smile with your order, you're generally out of luck. No smiles, though, either, and while that wouldn't fly at a McDonald's, it seems too often the norm here. The place is busy, and the owner does the cooking along with his wife (who wasn't here this time) - the counter help is hit and miss, though, with orders in the past being screwed up, but this time no problems. The burger was delicious, as were the fries and shakes.
The food was good, though the zucchini was a little greasy. The others had a Big Boy burger, fries, a Reese's Peanut Butter twister, and a plain vanilla shake. I also tried the fried zucchini (sticks). I tried the Orange Crush, and it was really delicious. The flavors are those of root beer, Orange Crush, berry banana, cappuccino, mocha and "any soda or fruit flavor" so you have quite a choice. My favorite, though, are the freezes - something between a shake and a soda. And of course milkshakes, with fifteen possible flavors! Wow, quite an assortment. There are twisters with add-ins like Butterfinger, Oreo, Mud Pie, worms and dirt (oy!), and Reese's Cup, and others.
Kids meals, and other treats like fish and chips, various incarnations of hot dogs, Polish sausages, and even a chipotle turkey burger stack up the menu rather high! And then the desserts - oh my! Large, by the way, DOES mean large. Food is the same, and we usually end up here for dessert - of course! The menu for food is good, though, and the hamburgers are very decent, along with other items like chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, Texas toast sandwiches with ham and cheese, fish filet sandwiches and sides like chili cheese fries, onion rings, cheesy bacon ranch fries (!), and much more.
The seats - at least the outside ones - were not touched but a couple of tables were removed past the walk-up order window. The place still looks the same, but new paint is apparent inside along with an enlarged counter and new menu boards. First time here since they were closed for about month for what I took to be remodeling, and some updating.
